Bingo Volunteer

Role Description

The Bingo Volunteer is responsible for representing Elder Help Peel “EHP” through a customer service role during Bingo charity sessions. This is an opportunity to raise awareness and to raise funds for our many programs and services to support socially isolated and lonely seniors in Peel Region.

Role/responsibilities and guidelines:

We are looking for reliable and dependable individuals, who will:

  • Follow the rules for volunteers, including adhering to the uniform policy and being on time for each shift
  • Shifts are 2 hour and 15 minutes
  • Arrive 15 minutes before the start of the shift and stay for the duration of the shift
  • Greet and hold doors open for bingo hall patrons
  • Helping customers with disabilities
  • Clear and wipe down tables
  • Help call out/identify winners
  • Assist staff with managing logistics, e.g., assisting with count to manage capacity restrictions
  • Help maintain the overall orderliness of the Bingo Hall
  • Provide some general information about Delta to customers
  • Provide patrons with session information
  • Thank patrons for coming
  • Redirect negative customer service issues to staff
  • Knowledgeable about Elder Help Peel when occasional asked to attend marketing events at local malls, community events
  • Must have access to reliable transportation


  • Be age 20 or older
  • A personal and friendly manner
  • Confidence to interact with the public
  • Completed training session
  • Obtained a vulnerable sector check
  • Completion of two reference checks
  • Ability to stand/walk for a minimum of two hours
  • Training session and hands on shadowing provided

Volunteers are asked to commit 2.25 hours monthly or biweekly.
