Description: The Grant Writer will focus on securing funding for Elder Help Peel’s programs including Senior Centres Without Walls (SCWW), Seniors Active Living (SALC) and the Friendly Visitor Programs. As our Grant Writer, you will become the internal expert of our current and potential funders as well as build strategic partnerships to create content and complete funding applications. You will manage proposal development from beginning to end, developing and implementing the proposal completion plan, setting up templates and trackers. You will work closely with other Elder Help Peel team members to build quality applications and dive deep into our services, financials and other required components.

Time Commitment:

• 5-10 hours per week
• Minimum 6 months or longer, preferred

Volunteer Requirements:

• Must be 20+ to apply. Retirees and Seniors welcome to apply!
• Highly proficient English language both written and oral. Secondary languages spoken is both welcome and an asset.
• Must be fully vaccinated, and willing to provide a copy of Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 proof of vaccination.
• Volunteer commitment of at least 6 months required.
• Some volunteer roles require proficient use of the internet, ability to communicate via email, including scanning documents, MS Suites and Teams/Zoom Video Conferencing.
• Some volunteer roles require proficiency in audience development, branding and content marketing, detail oriented digital marketing, graphic design, marketing and media creation, web marketing and WordPress.
• Application Process: Interview, background check, orientation, ongoing support from Elder Help Peel staff.
